Biography

Tadao Cern, born in 1983 is a Lithuanian artist and he currently lives and works in Vilnius, Lithuania. In 2006, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in architecture at VGTU, Vilnius and in 2009, he received his Master’s degree in architecture at VGTU, Vilnius. 

A decision to change from a career in architecture to photography in 2011 paved the way for Cern’s path as an artist. As a photographer he created different series, each of which gained considerable attention. His projects have been published in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Atlantic, Le Monde, BILD, ELLE and other well known publications. The viral success of these projects led to exhibitions across the world including Vang Gogh Museum, Amsterdam and Saatchi Gallery, London. Cern has won numerous photo awards, which led him to opportunities to create campaigns for many high end brands such as Samsung, New Yorker, BMW, Chupa Chups. 

In 2016 Tadao Cern has decided to move to a more conceptual form of artistic expression with his newly created projects 'Black Balloons', 'Chromatic Aberrations', 'Adobe Acrobat', ‘French Exit’. Cern continue to exhibit both photographic and art installation works globally.
