ArtVerona Yellow 2020
Online from 9 AM, December 4th to 11.59 PM, December 14th
On the occasion of Art Verona 2020, the UN-SPACED gallery is pleased to propose a group show by CÉCILE DUPAQUIER (1970), TULIO PINTO (1974), and LAURENT DA SYLVA (1979). This exhibition project will bring together the recent works by four contemporary artists with their own, unique approach towards the medium of sculpture. They all define the minimalistic outcomes, with their own interpretation of simplicity.
Cécile Dupaquier explores the relationship between the gallery’s white wall and what hangs on it, a wall sculpture. The point is rather simplicity and humility, terms that hardly exist anymore in our world of the roaring spectacle and that are needed precisely for that reason.
Tulio Pinto explores the dialogue between simple, industrial materials by creating a precisely calculated balance between them. The notion of the invisible force, gravity is at the core of his practice.
Sebastian Wickeroth creates unique sculptural outcomes by merging together different characteristics of painting, sculpture and architecture. His practice is not about the destruction of a sculpture, but rather to create decomposition as an equal mode of construction.
Laurent Da Sylva translates meteorological data into landscape paintings, made out of aluminium, which have their own minimalistic take on sculpture and light. By bringing together these four unique sculptural practices, the UN-SPACED gallery offers a contemporary view towards sculptural practice and en courages the viewer to discover new ways of looking at this medium. Therefore their work will be an excellent asset to the dynamic and cutting edge platform of Art Verona.
