Art Paris Art Fair 2021: Solo show by Gerold Miller

Overview

As part of its ongoing programme development, UN-SPACED is pleased to enter into a new collaboration with Gerold Miller. This cooperation will launch the gallery's artistic season with a monographic presentation of the German minimalist artist at the Art Paris Art Fair from 7 to 12 September 2021.

Born in 1961, Gerold Miller lives and works in Berlin (DE) and Pistonna (IT). Gerold Miller's works are mainly wall sculptures composed of metal frames painted with a play on motifs, colours and hues. Working with matte/glossy opposition, contrasts or bright tones, Gerold Miller creates a resonance between his works and the space that surrounds them. The final form is established in interaction with the exhibition space through a play of reflections in midnight blue, vermilion red and fuchsia pink of the works presented.
The sculptures selected for this occasion form a retrospective group of works produced between 2010 and 2021, which evoke all the series that make up the artist's production: monoform (Monoform 86, 2021), set (set 592, 2021), IV (Instant vision: IV 33, 2021 and IV 163, 2021), to (Total Object: total object 218 of 2010) and Verstärker (Verstärker 24 (1/3), 2017), a series of self-supporting sculptures evoking the spatial markers of a room in volume.

In the continuity of the American minimalist artists of the 1970s and conceptual art, Gerold Miller's work has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Germany (Daimler Foundation, Kunsthalle Weishaupt, Museum Ritter, National galerie, Berlin) and international institutions (MASI Lugano - Switzerland, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art - Denmark).
