James Dosa (He/his) was born in France in 1996. James studied design at the Ecole Boule (Paris), graphic design and printmaking at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs (Paris) in 2018, then turned to painting and graduated from the Beaux Arts de Paris in 2021.
Dosa is interested in the global and intergenerational pop culture of video games, cartoons and manga. He interrogates this globalized culture and seeks to isolate its codes. The details of a 'game play', the colours and tones specific to a universe or even certain symbols such as the star of Mario Kart or the ring of Sonic are as many doors of access to this contemporary memory. Like a semiotician, the artist dissociates and collects each of the keys to these universes in order to reorganise them and redefine their contours in his free painting compositions on canvas.
His recent works have been presented and acclaimed at the exhibition of the Beaux Arts félicités, presented at several exhibitions in Paris and France.
