A 2018 graduate of La Cambre, and winner of the 2018 Woluwe-Saint-Pierre Arts Prize for Drawing and Painting, Robin Wen lives and works in Brussels. The artist's pictorial practice explores the world of the Free Party through its lifestyle, that of a youth in search of freedom. An initially documentary approach. Using her personal archives or objects from her daily life, Robin Wen deals with the fragility and violence of this milieu with strength and sensitivity.
His paintings have become "anthropological objects" and bear witness to a universe that oscillates between the fantastic and the realistic. This practice is part of the tradition of genre painting, which the artist hijacks and reappropriates.
