The stable and the Collapsed - solo show by Thomas Hauser: NEW Ephemeral Space, 43 rue de Montmorency Paris 3 - Opening 09 & 10/04/22 - 2:00PM - 9:00PM

Overview

UN-SPACED is pleased to invite you to the opening of the new solo by Thomas Hauser. Hauser will present comprising new, unique and limited edition photographs and installations. The works are a continuation of his exhibition at the Rencontres d'Arles in 2018 and have been created during his residency at the Centre photographique d’Île-de-France in 2021.

Present in the collections of the Museum of Photography in Amsterdam (FOAM) and in the Neuflize OBC Corporate Foundation, the photographic-based works of French artist Thomas Hauser investigate intimate and collective memories. They offer a new dimension to the notion of memory and the artist’s personal archive. Hauser’s photographic installations, which owe as much to American abstractionism as to the Pictures Generation, deconstruct and sublimate contemporary images and codes. The works are based on the classical aesthetics of sculpture, the mystery of a print erased by time, the fragility of silver paper and the density and depth of a toner. Born in 1984 in Paris, the artist currently lives in Marseille.
